I’ll be the first person to admit that they hate summer weather. That does NOT mean I hate summer.
Summer is super. It’s the perfect time of year for kayaking, beach, river, hiking, camping and snow cones… and I love all these things.
See? Camping. Also sweet potatoes. I must go through phases with foods. First it was grapefruit then peanut butter then honey and now sweet potatoes.
When it gets too hot I can just stay indoors and paint.
One more lovely thing about summer, it’s far too warm for jeans so I can wear dresses practically every day.
The picture to the left is before.
I semi-sew this dress, I cheated by using the skirt of an old dress.
One last treat for your ears and eyes:

Is there any better way to celebrate your 51st birthday than with strawberry cake and spending the day packing, storing and moving everything two girls own? The answer is yes, of course. I’m very grateful to my father and my second father for helping me move. This awesome flamingo cake was a birthday/thank you cake.
The semester is over!
Now I have even more time to paint.
This painting of a bag of coffee didn’t take very long to finish at all. I may have spent around 2 or 2 1/2 hours at the most.

I’ve got an obsession. Want to know what it is? I’ll give you a hint, it starts with frozen and ends in yogurt.
Every Tuesday is two punch Tuesday at TCBY and I am very proud to have surpassed filling one punch card.
Right next to my apartment building is Mochi, another frozen yogurt joint. And then there’s Red Mango, I have a lot of coupons for red Mango.
My pal Alicia lent me the Bible there. It’s the ESV study Bible, it’s awesome. I’ve got a study Bible and I’ve got an ESV Bible, but it just isn’t the same as an ESV study Bible.
Also this week, I finished my still life painting for class!
One and a half school assignments down and half to go. As I write this I’m procrastinating from finishing a paper for a reporting class.
